How To Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone & Move Past Limiting Beliefs - Interview with Rachel Friedman

May 30, 20232 min read

When you think about growth and growing, what comes to mind? Perhaps it's excitement, but I bet it looks something more like fear and doubt and worry. If you immediately start thinking about why you can't do something or why something won't happen for you, you are in a cycle of believing your limiting beliefs. Believing those stories is going to keep you from reaching your potential and keep you small.

Moving past your comfort zone is relatively simple, you just keep doing things that stretch your comfort. Dealing with the thoughts that come with doing that is the tough part. Your limiting beliefs are there to protect you, but they also keep you from growing. Rachel and I discuss why we don't actually wan to listen to all of our thoughts.

Your thoughts are optional, and you don't have to listen to the story they're telling you. If you want to step into your highest self but you're feeling stuck and scared, your thoughts are probably stopping you. Rachel and I talk about how your ability to hold space for discomfort and making conscious choices is the key to success. In order to do that, you must be willing to be honest about what you want and what you are willing to do to get it.

In order to meet your fullest potential, you have to be willing to get down and dirty with beliefs that have protected you for a long time, probably your whole life. Since those beliefs have had a lifetime to grow, it is going to take some time to implant new beliefs - the good news is that you can do it, and it won't take nearly as long as you think.
